to praise, pursue   and   proclaim

Jesus as Lord

Vision

Christians are a diverse people unified around good news that brings great joy for all people. The Good News, or Gospel, is that Jesus, the Son of God, is Lord over all. He has come to the Earth in order to save it, to extend God’s Kingdom to include the World, while offering to fix our brokenness and fill our emptiness with His Holy Spirit. Jesus has died to forgive our sins, and has risen to prove that He is Lord over all. He offers His eternal life to all who believe and follow Him.

We are a community that gathers to praise God for His Gospel, His grace and His goodness. We are a group of ordinary people that pursue Jesus as our teacher, our saviour, our Lord and our God. And we are disciples of Jesus commissioned to proclaim God’s gospel to our families, our friends, our neighbours and our world.

In short, We exist to praise, pursue and proclaim Jesus as Lord.

CORE VALUES

These are our priorities

Praising

We exist to praise God and celebrate that Jesus died for us, and rose again as Lord over everything – even death. As we worship God for His goodness and grace, we fulfill the very reason we were created in the first place.

Pursuing

Jesus calls people to follow him. Our church exists to pursue Jesus - to become his disciples, which means his students and apprentices. We exist to reflect and embody him in every area of our lives; to bring with us the fragrance of Christ wherever we go, witnessing to Jesus’ goodness and mercy and also to His status as Lord over all.

Proclaiming

Jesus commands his followers to share the good news that He is Lord. We exist to proclaim God’s gospel – which is good news of great joy for all people. In Jesus, God has come to rescue the world, to save us, to redeem us, to adopt us as his children, to fill us with His Holy Spirit, and to provide us with an eternal home with Him. The gospel is good news, and good news is meant to be proclaimed that more and more may hear God’s story and embrace His Son.

Preserving

Our faith is not ours alone. We have not discovered it or thought it up. It has been passed down to us by the Church under the guidance and authority of God’s Word. We therefore are committed to protect the deposit we have been entrusted with, and to pass on the gospel as revealed in Scripture to the next generation and beyond.
